The links below are to some Excel Spreadsheets which I
have created / modified for some of my projects. No liability accepted if you
use any of these and it costs you money or attributes to you injuring, maiming,
or killing yourself.
This spreadsheet will produce gore patterns for envelopes
using the natural shape (flat top balloon). It uses metric and imperial
dimensions different to most of the ones available elsewhere on the net
This spreadsheet will give panel sizes and numbers for
tetrahedral shaped balloons. It includes correction for the additional
volume enclosed in an inflated tetrahedron over a geometric solid.
These spreadsheets solve the flying wire length
calculations. You need to input the envelope mouth diameter, size of your
burner frame and the angle at the base of the balloon.
Input the envelope volume
and the spreadsheet will produce a series of available lift tables
for various ISA variations.
Includes Pressure to Altitude / Altitude to Pressure
conversions and a High Altitude Lift Calculator.
This includes instructions on using and adjusting a
nicopress tool and some technical data and part numbers for cable, thimbles,
ovals and stops used for manufacturing flying wires.
This is my translation of Arnaud's description of how he
calculates the envelope stresses in panel.exe

This work was conducted primarily for constant volume
superpressure tetroons but much of the content is still valid for zero
superpressure models.
