World Record in The Bag

Brisbane Adventurer / Balloonist Steve Griffin today broke the world duration record for hot air balloons of up to 400 m3 capacity. His record breaking 4 hour 39 minute 50 second flight in his home made balloon bettered the previous record by some 15%.

In near perfect conditions Griffin launched his double skinned plastic balloon near Beiseker, Alberta, Canada at 8:17AM landing near Tochu. "With the temperature starting at around -22oC at sunrise and almost no wind I had a dream run on this flight", Griffin said.

Following the flight the team visited Trochu where the local hospitality was splendid. To commemorate the occasion Steve was allocated a ceiling tile in the Yale Hotel on which to mark the occasion. (Photos below)
