Steve has 23 years experience as a pilot including 17 years flying balloons.

 In 1994 he was the first person to fly a balloon solo and non-stop across Australia, smashing the world altitude record for Rosiere (temperature controlled helium) balloons.

 He currently holds 33 Australian aviation records including :

·         the absolute altitude for balloons (31,000 feet) and

·         the absolute duration record for all categories of aircraft (56 hours 27 minutes).

 He is the only Australian to be awarded the Federation Aeronatique International (FAI) Gold Sporting Badge with 3 Diamonds and has received a FAI Montgolfier Diploma for outstanding performance in Roziere  balloons.

 Grahame will be acting as official observer for the record attempts.

 He is a licenced commercial balloon pilot and was formally the Operations Manager for the Australian Ballooning Federation.

 He has 27 years experience as an air traffic controller including some time as the Manager of Sydney Tower. He is currently employed as Operations Manager with Comet Satellite Services
